
Sophomore Carter Creasy passed for 312 yards and three touchdowns to help lead Tazewell to a 48-13 win over Fort Chiswell on senior night.
The Bulldogs (6-4, 3-1 SWD) scored 35 unanswered points after Fort Chiswell scored after a muffed punt to tie the score at 7-7 in the first quarter.
Creasy completed 20 of 30 passes in the game with touchdown strikes of 33 and 32 yards to senior Cassius Harris and 32 yards to wide receiver Tyler Gillespie.
Harris finished with a team high seven catches for 124 yards. Sophomore WR Logan McDonald contributed 6 catches for 101 yards and senior WR Braxton Dowdy added three receptions for 65 yards.
Running backs Brody Patterson, Kaizon Taylor, and AyvRee Zeigler added three scores. Zeigler carried the ball 7 times for 55 yards and a 2-yard TD plunge. Taylor added six carries for 44 yards, scoring on a 1-yard run. Patterson carried the ball three times for 35 yards and scored on a 26-yard run.
Freshman back-up quarterback Finn Moss was 2 for 2 passing for 23 yards for the Bulldogs.
Tazewell finished with 535 yards in total offense. The Bulldogs passed for 335 yards and rushed for 200 yards.
Senior DE Gavin Duty added a 65-yard interception return for a touchdown and place kicker Zephyr Dagout connected on 6 of 7 PATs.
Defensively, Tazewell limited Fort Chiswell to 186 total yards in the contest.
Cornerback Logan McDonald forced a fumble. Safety Cassius Harris forced and recovered a fumble. Linebacker Kaizon Taylor was credited with 7 ½ tackles, including 4 tackles for loss. DE Tyler Gillespie had four tackles and two tackles for loss.
“I think this is the most complete game that we’ve played this season and I think it shows what we can do,” said Head Coach J’me Harris. “For us we got to keep that going as we head into the playoffs.”
Tazewell has a bye week this week before advancing to the playoffs the following week
